Repiping & Water Line Replacement in Nampa, ID

When a house starts leaking in a second place, the pipe is telling you something about the rest of it.

The problem

What goes wrong

Supply pipe fails by material and by age, not at random. Galvanized steel corrodes closed from the inside, which shows up as falling pressure long before it shows up as a leak. Polybutylene fails at fittings. Copper develops pinholes. Patching one section of a run that is failing along its length is a repair you will make again.

Our approach

How we handle it

We tell you what your house is piped in and what that material does as it ages, then price a repair and a repipe side by side so the comparison is real. Repiping is disruptive and we do not recommend it lightly, but neither do we sell a fourth patch to a homeowner who would be better served by replacing the run.

What is included

  • Identification of existing pipe material and its condition
  • Whole-home or partial repipe in modern materials
  • Main water line replacement from the meter to the house
  • Repair of the drywall we open
  • Pressure testing before we close anything up

What it costs

Repipes are quoted after we see what the house is piped in and how it is routed. Estimates are free, and financing is available, which is usually relevant on a job this size.

How do I know if my house needs repiping?

Falling water pressure across the whole house is the classic sign of galvanized pipe closing up with corrosion. Rusty or discoloured water when a tap has been sitting is another. The strongest signal is repetition: a second or third leak in different places within a couple of years means the pipe is failing along its length, not at one point.

What pipe materials fail, and when?

Galvanized steel, common in homes built before the 1960s, corrodes from the inside and typically restricts flow badly after several decades. Polybutylene, used from the late 1970s into the mid 1990s, fails at its fittings. Copper is long-lived but develops pinhole leaks, particularly with aggressive water. Modern PEX and copper installs are what we repipe into.

How disruptive is a repipe?

We open walls and ceilings where the runs are, so it is genuine construction rather than a service call. Most homes are without water only for parts of the job rather than the whole of it. We will walk the route with you before starting so you know which rooms are affected and roughly for how long.
